This course has been designed specifically for staff working in temporary or supply roles across schools and education settings in the UK. It introduces the core principles of safeguarding and child protection, including key legislation, definitions, and practical steps you can take to keep children safe.
Over the course of five modules, you’ll explore essential areas such as:
- Safeguarding principles
- Recognising signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation
- Online safety
- Responding to disclosures
- Preventing radicalisation through initiatives like Prevent
As someone working directly with children and young people, your role is vital in creating a safe and trusted environment. This training will help you recognise concerns early, respond appropriately, and understand your responsibilities in protecting those in your care.
While this training provides a strong foundation, it’s important to remember that it does not replace the safeguarding policies and procedures of your agency or the individual school or setting you work in. You must always make sure you are familiar with, and follow, those local requirements.
